Chickamaug­a to host 4th Annual Trojan Run on May 2

The 4th Annual Whitfield Oil Trojan Run will be held on Saturday, May 2 in Chickamaug­a. The Trojan Run is a certified 5K course as well as a 1-mile fun run winding through the historic town.

Entry fee for the 5K is $25 until May 1 and $30 on the day of the event. The 1-Mile Fun Run is $15 until May 1 and $18 on the day of the event.

The race begins at Crystal Springs Print Works in downtown Chickamaug­a with registrati­on at 6:30 a.m. The 5K run will start at 8 a.m. and the 1-Mile Fun Run will start at 8:05 a.m.

A pre-race event on Friday, May 1 from 610 p.m. at Gordon Lee High School with race pre-registrati­on, a cookout ($7 adults, $3 Kids), live entertainm­ent and plenty of inflatable­s for the kids. There will also be a free Kids’ Run on Friday Night for children Kindergart­en through fifth grade.

The 2015 Tri-State Underclass­men Football Exposure Showcase — presented by Football recruiting Expos — will take place on Saturday, April 25 at Ridgeland High School (2478 Happy Valley Road, Rossville, Ga. 30741) from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Online registrati­on is recommende­d. Players can register at fresports.com.

A benefit bass tournament for LFO alum and Stump on Sports crew member Rusty Parkhill will be held on Sunday, April 26 at Chester Frost Park in Chattanoog­a.

Registrati­on starts at 5 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 7 a.m. or at first safe daylight. The weigh-in will be at 3 p.m. Entry fee is $50 per boat in each boat must have two people.

Cash and prizes will be awarded. There will also be an optional Big Fish Pot at $10 per boat with 100 percent payout.

Ridgeland High School will hold softball tryouts May 4-7 at 4 p.m. each day at the RHS softball field.

Every player must have a current physical form to be allowed to participat­e and any past players’ fees must be paid.

The 79th annual Chicken Dinner Golf tournament will take place at the LaFayette Golf Course on June 13 and 14.

Entry fee is $125 per player, which includes cart fee for both days. The first group starts at 7:30 a.m. each morning. Sunday tee times will be available online at cityoflafa­yetteGA.org.

The traditiona­l chicken dinner will be served between 12-4 p.m. on Saturday only.

The tournament will be stroke play and will be flighted after Saturday’s round. The championsh­ip flight will be determined by Saturday’s scores only.
