NGAC Volleyball: LaFayette falls at home to Ringgold

The Ringgold Middle School Lady Tigers traveled south to LaFayette last Tuesday afternoon and claimed a straight-set victory over the Lady Ramblers in a North Georgia Athletic Conference volleyball match.

Tied 8-8 in the first set, Ringgold got seven consecutiv­e service points from Ricki Bailey to take control and the Blue-and-White would go on to a 25-12 win.

Then in the second set, Ringgold led 6-1 early before LaFayette would close the gap to 9-7. But Chloe Hall would serve five straight points as the Lady Tigers won 12 of the game’s next 18 points to build a cushion. Lauren Terrell finished the match with a kill for the 25-15 win.

Hall and Zoie Metcalf each had two aces for Ringgold, while Terrell, Bickley, and Kara Rittenhous­e added one ace each.

For LaFayette, Allie Roberts and Haley Bubsy each had an ace, and Kaitlyn Henry threw down one kill.

Gordon Lee falls to Heritage, upends CVMS and Rossville

The Gordon Lee Middle School volleyball team suffered its first setback of the season on Sept. 26, losing at two-time defending NGAC champion Heritage.

The Lady Trojans claimed a 25-18 win in the first set, but lost the next two by identical 25-19 scores as Heritage finished with a split in the season series.

Heritage also won the junior varsity match, 19-25, 25-19, 15-7.
