■ Learning Luncheon: MJCCA Israeli Culture, Society and the Arts: The Beginnings. Noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday. $15 with lunch (must be ordered by Friday), $5 without lunch. MJCCA at Zaban Park, 5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody. Adults can join Dr. Eli Sperling in exploring the origins and early development of nativeborn Hebrew and Israeli culture. From the 1880s to current times, staggered waves of culturally, geographically, religiously and linguistically diverse Jewish immigrants and historic events have changed the culture of Israel radically. In this first session, Dr. Sperling will discuss the Jewish culture from the early 19th-century Zionists through the formation of the State of Israel to the Six-Day War. This Volunteer Information Session is hosted by the DeKalb County CASA Program to provide an overview of the program for those interested in becoming a DeKalb County CASA volunteer. This session is a Flex Training class that combines five online sessions and five in-person sessions. In-person training sessions will meet from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
