Tracking AZ athletes at the ’24 Paris Olympics

- Logan Stanley

After the COVID-19 pandemic upended the last summer games in 2021 held in Tokyo, we are back on the right year of the Olympic cycle. The 33rd Summer Olympics take place in Paris and will be held from July 26 to August 11.

It is the third time that Paris has hosted the Olympics. The last time came exactly 100 years ago at the 1924 Games. The first time came in 1900. The 2024 Paris Olympics will feature something that has never been done before: an opening ceremony outside of the stadium. Athletes will be floating down the Seine River.

There are 32 sports — with one added this year and three returning from their debut in Tokyo — at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Around 10,500 athletes from 206 countries will be competing.

Most of the rosters have yet to be filled out as qualifying is still occurring for many countries across the globe. Here is a list of athletes and officials with ties to Arizona who have qualified so far.

This list will be updated as more athletes punch their ticket to Paris. Come back for updates.
