Winston leads Sparty to sweep of Minnesota

No. 11 Michigan State 70, Minnesota 52: Cassius Winston had 18 points and eight assists to help Michigan State (15-5, 7-2) cruise to a second victory over host Minnesota (11-9, 5-5) in three weeks.

Xavier Tillman added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans, who bounced back from a loss at Indiana three days ago to stay in a first-place tie in the Big Ten with Illinois.

Michigan State held the Gophers to season lows in field goal (28.1) and 3point% (17.9).

Daniel Oturu led the Gophers with 19 points and Gabe Kalscheur chipped in 15 points.

No. 4 San Diego State 71, UNLV 67: Malachi Flynn scored 21 points and San Diego State (21-0, 10-0 Mountain West) staved off UNLV’s second-half rally to beat the Runnin’ Rebels (11-11, 6-3) and remain the country’s only unbeaten team.

The Aztecs broke the school record for best start in the program’s 99 seasons. San Diego State’s 21st consecutiv­e victory also tops the school record of 20 straight wins, set during the 2010-11 season and matched by the 2013-14 squad that made the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

No. 12 Oregon 95, UCLA 75: Chris Duarte scored 20 of his 24 points in the first half and host Oregon (17-4, 6-2 Pac-12) took full advantage of 23 UCLA turnovers.

No. 17 Maryland 77, Indiana 76: Jalen Smith capped a last-minute comeback by making the go-ahead layup with 14 seconds left Sunday to give Maryland (16-4, 6-3 Big Ten) a victory at Indiana (15-5, 5-4).

No. 4 Oregon 66, No. 7 Oregon State 57: Sabrina Ionescu scored 19 points and Satou Sabally added 16 to help Oregon (17-2, 7-1 Pac-12) beat host Oregon State (16-4, 4-4), sweeping the two-game Civil War series.

No. 5 Louisville 83, Pittsburgh 49: Louisville saw six players score in double figures Sunday as the host Cardinals (20-1, 9-0 ACC) cruised to a victory over Pittsburgh (3-16, 0-8).

No. 6 Stanford 82, Utah 49: Freshman Francesca Belibi scored a seasonbest 20 points to go with eight rebounds, and host Stanford (18-2, 7-1 Pac-12) beat Utah (10-9, 3-5) to run its home winning streak at Maples Pavilion to 16 games dating to last season.

No. 8 N.C. State 76, North Carolina 68: Elissa Cunane had 22 points and 17 rebounds to help host North Carolina State (19-1, 8-1 ACC) beat North Carolina (14-6, 5-4).

No. 9 Mississipp­i State 80, Ole Miss 39: Jessika Carter scored 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and host Mississipp­i State (18-3, 6-1 SEC) routed Ole Miss (7-13, 0-7).

No. 10 UCLA 66, Washington State 50: Michaela Onyenwere scored 23 points and Chrisma Osborne added 16 as host UCLA (18-1, 7-1 Pac-12) recovered from a slow start to earn a victory over Washington State (9-11, 2-6).

The Bruins won despite shooting just 37% from the field.
