Why hasn’t water been a bigger issue in this campaign?

- Contact him: John Always, Sun City

With water supply reaching almost a crisis point in our Western states, why have we not heard more from the candidates at all levels of government saying anything about water use?

Do we not want to step on toes or does it have to do with who is giving “dark money” to the candidates?

Why don’t we hear about proposals for restrictions on water use for golf courses, pools or fracking?

An earnest question for my fellow Americans: Where are the adults?

In America today, it feels like the parents have gone out for the night and hired a middle-school babysitter who doesn’t like kids. While we’re running around the house screaming and hitting each other, the babysitter is texting her friends, spreading rumors about the more popular girls in school, ignoring the mess in the living room.

Parents, please come home! We need some order in our house.

We need a Marshall Plan to help the people of Latin America

As a country, we are approaching the problem in Central America incorrectly. We need a strategy akin to the Marshall Plan, in which we could help address the gangs and thugs in those countries while creating jobs.

This would accomplish far more and provide a longer-term solution. Those people don’t want to leave their homelands, but they are leaving horror and seeking safety and a future.

That’s where we should be investing our efforts.

The recipe for how Republicans hold the House and Senate

I think I can sum up the results of the midterm elections.

The Republicans will win both the House and Senate if not a single Republican votes for a Democrat because of the Judge Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.

If they do otherwise, they’ll be traitors to their party and will have to live with the horrific results of a Democratic-controlled Congress.

Note to Religious Right: Trump is not the only special president

To those Christians who say that President Trump was chosen to lead America, well, so was George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Barack Obama.

I could have named all the presidents but there wasn’t enough space.

Saudi Arabia can change dismal state of its desert nation

Saudi Arabia, you have but one chance.

It is both a bitter pill and an opportunity to rise above this self-created abyss.

It is time to seize a moral ground for true leadership in the Middle East and throughout the Muslim world.

Fully and openly, renounce the “right” of the kingdom and its leaders to murder political opponents without a legitimate trial.

Proclaim that from this day forward every man and woman has a right to speak his or her mind without fear. Admit the error of your previous ways. The Kingdom and your leadership will not be abolished, but will be forgiven for the lessons learned.

The world is changing around you. Consider what you stand to gain as you consider what you are about to lose.

Trump’s angry political speech loses yet another voter

One less voter for Trump’s divisive and anger-filled leadership!

Need more proof?

I think not.
