ASU, UA to open Pac play at home

Rivals to meet in final regular-season game

-

Arizona State men’s basketball will open its conference schedule at home for just the fourth time in the past 11 seasons.

The Arizona Wildcats, meanwhile, will play four of their first six conference games at home and will finish the regular season hosting ASU.

Exact dates and times for all of the Pac-12’s conference games will be announced at a later date but the league revealed its weekly matchups and site designations on Monday.

The Pac-12 is now simply waiting for its television partners to decide the actual dates and times of conference games for the 2018-19 season.

ASU and Arizona will open with Colorado and Utah the week of Jan. 2-6.

The ASU-UA game in Tempe will sometime between Jan. 30-Feb. 3. The rivalry rematch in Tucson will be March 6-9.

Because of the 18-game, unbalanced league schedule, ASU and UA will both miss home games against UCLA and USC and road games at Washington and Washington State this season.

The Pac-12 is considering a move to 20 conference games. The Big Ten will start a 20-game conference schedule this season while the ACC will do it in 2019-20.

For the third straight year, the Pac-12 Tournament will be held at TMobile Arena in Las Vegas. Next season’s event will be March 13-16, 2019.
