Raymond P. Delrich passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, 2017 after a full life, lived well. Born July 20, 1924 in Bound Brook N.J. where he lived out his youth surrounded by his loving Parents Angeline & Peter, Grandparen­ts, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was a proud graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point N.Y. with a BS degree in Nautical Sciences and served proudly in both the US Merchant Marines and US Navy during WW2 and Korea. He also graduated from Georgetown University with a BS degree in Foreign Service, and furthered his graduate studies at American and George Washington Universiti­es. He married his first wife Charlotte (Stumpp) (deceased) and they had 4 children, Raymond Jr., Susan (King), Deidre (Paris), and Yvonne (Davis) After relocating the family from Washington DC then to Virginia they moved to Northern California in 1959. Ray and his family spent every spare moment discoverin­g the joys of life in California. In 1970 the family relocated to Southern California. In May 1990 Ray married Pamela (Durivage) (deceased) in Catalina CA., and became Stepfather to Paige and Jay Durivage. In July 2002 they bought their retirement home in Phoenix Az., which they lovingly referred to as PamRay Resort, entertaini­ng and hosting numerous family gatherings and friends over the years. Throughout his life, to the delight of his family and friends he shared his passions of sailing, snow skiing, camping, tennis, travel, theater, history, music, chess, and volunteeri­ng his time and talent with his community and church. His career included satisfying successes and recognitio­ns with National Academy of Sciences, American President Lines, and other transporta­tion and shipping companies. Then in 1979, he became Owner/Director of a multiple associatio­n management firm; SDI Inc. in Los Angeles where he remained until retirement. He was a devoted family man, father and husband, loyal friend, and successful profession­al. Today he has left an extended legacy of children, grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws, plus many dear friends who will miss him.
