Lyft ridesharing app now available throughout Arizona
Lyft is now available throughout Arizona.
The transportation app announced Thursday that Lyft is now everywhere you are statewide, with the addition of drivers in Payson, Show Low, Kingman, Bisbee, Nogales and elsewhere.
But in small towns that sometimes span only a few miles, how much demand can there be for ride sharing?
“We’ve seen passengers that have opened their apps in these regions,” said Lyft general manager Drena Kusari. “So we know the demand is there.”
Kusari said the demand is there both on the driver and passenger side, noting Lyft has received many driver applications in new areas of coverage.
Even those in smaller towns without many landmarks or destinations can find use for the app, she said.
“Just like in other regions, we know individuals need to rely on Lyft in unexpected situations,” Kusari said.
So many have been in the situation where they have a broken-down car, or have been stranded without transportation. The addition of Lyft in every corner of the state could help eliminate stressful situations involving transportation, she said.
“Now everyone who requests a ride in the state of Arizona should be able to get one,” Kusari said

Another major ride-sharing app, Uber, still covers a majority of the state’s population. They deliver service to 80 percent of Arizonans, according to an Uber representative. at comics .azcentral.com
