BUMPER TO BUMPER
Freeway-improvement projects will require closures or lane restrictions this weekend. Freeway work often occurs overnight. The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers consider alternate routes or give themselves extra travel time while the following restrictions are in place:
» Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway)/Interstate 10 Arizona 51 Ministack
Closure: Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between the I-10/Arizona 51 Ministack interchange and 44th Street from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday for pavement repairs. All ramps from I-10 and southbound Arizona 51 to eastbound Loop 202 also closed. Eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at 24th and 32nd streets closed.
DETOUR: Please plan ahead and use alternate routes, including eastbound I-10, to travel to the East Valley on Saturday morning.
» Loop 303/between Peoria Avenue and Camelback Road
Closure: Loop 303 closed in both directions between Peoria Avenue and Camelback Road from 9 tonight to 5 a.m. Monday for work to switch traffic within freeway-widening construction zone. Glendale Avenue and Bethany Home Road also closed between Sarival Avenue and Cotton Lane. Southbound Loop 303 onramp at Cactus Road closed. DETOUR: Consider using Cotton Lane as alternate north-south route.
» Southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway)/Ray Road and Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)
Closure: Southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) closed between Ray Road and Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) in Chandler from 11 tonight to 10 a.m. Saturday for pedestrian bridge work. Northbound Loop 101 closed between Loop 202 and Ray Road from 11 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday for pedestrian bridge work.
DETOUR: Traffic will use freeway frontage roads during closures.
» Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)/Hawes Road Closure: Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) off-ramp at Hawes Road in Mesa closed from 9 tonight to 5 a.m. Monday for barrier installation. Eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Hawes Road closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for work on future Arizona 24 interchange.
DETOUR: Consider using adjacent off-ramps at Power or Elliot roads.
