Leopards run past Rabbs, 22-14

TEXARKANA, Texas — LibertyEyl­au’s frosh squad defeated Atlanta on Thursday at Harris Field, 22-14, in a football game.

Jaydin Hampton scored on a 5-yard run and made a 2-point conversion for the Leopards. He also connected with Jayden Davis on a 42-yard touchdown pass.

Marquariou­s Price scored on a 1-yard run for L-E, and teammate Nate Gamble added a 2-point conversion.

Tracy Revels, Jamey Hayes, Pharrell Thurman and Cardell Cree were spotlighte­d by the Leopards coaches for their play.

Redwater pummels Crusaders

REDWATER, Texas — Six players scored a touchdown for Redwater’s junior high, as the Dragons thumped Bishop Gorman, 44-8.

Marquez Jones had a 36-yard touchdown run, Colt Morrow ran 28 yards to paydirt, Jaxson Minter had a 28-yard score, and Layndon Daffern got loose on a 65-yard scamper for a TD.

Brayden Doyle returned an intercepti­on 48 yards for a score, while teammate Brody Johnson had a 38-yard Pick 6 for Redwater.

Connor Holland had two, 2-point runs, Ashton Odom added a 2-point run, and Andrew Willis also had a 2-point run for the Dragons.

Redwater hosts Atlanta at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Hogs sneak past Leopards

TEXARKANA, Ark. — Marcus Floyd’s two touchdowns and 2-point conversion were enough to help lead North Heights Junior High (1-0) over De Queen, 14-7, on Thursday at Razorback Stadium.

Floyd and Jordynn Williams finished with one intercepti­on apiece.

The eighth-grade Razorbacks are back in action next Thursday, traveling to Magnolia.

NHJH’s seventh-grade squad travels to Ashdown on Monday.

Pirates put up shutout

QUINLAN, Texas — Dylan Braley started the scoring as he ran into the end zone on a 7-yard run, and James Bowie shut out Boles, 16-0, in a junior high football game.

Braley ran in the 2-point conversion to put the Pirates up, 8-0. Logan McCullough found Clay Allen on a 15-yard pass to make it 14-0. Ethan Evans plunged into the end zone on the 2-point run for the finishing touches.

Nick Hadley had a fumble recovery for James Bowie.

Redwater, Beckville tie

REDWATER, Texas — Redwater and Beckville tied in their junior varsity game Thursday.

Austin Kennedy scored the lone touchdown for the Dragons.

Carson Bowman recovered a fumble and snatched an intercepti­on for Redwater during the game.

The Dragons host Atlanta on Thursday.

Bulldogs play strong, earn wins

QUEEN CITY, Texas — Delvon Federick had a 35-yard run for a touchdown, a 10-yard receiving TD from Clint Wiley, and three, 2-point conversion runs as Queen City’s eighth grade shut out New Diana, 38-0.

Jolton Wallace had a 45-yard grab from Wiley for a score, Nicolas Herring scored from 25 yards out on a run, and Christian Nard returned an intercepti­on 55 yards for a TD for the Bulldogs.

Wiley also had a 2-point run for Queen City.

The Bulldogs’ seventh grade defeated the Eagles, 12-6. Messiah Grundy had the first score for Queen City on a 35-yard run.

Edward Langston caught a 25-yard pass from Hunter Parker to put the Bulldogs up for good.

Queen City plays at DeKalb at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

New Boston claws Hawkins

HAWKINS, Texas — New Boston defeated Hawkins in their junior high game Thursday, 24-8.

Tiner Melton scored two touchdowns on runs of 25 and 15 yards for the Lions. Melton also punched in a 2-point conversion.

Will Erwin scored on a 20-yard run and also a 2-point conversion for New Boston.

Jamarian Jackson scored on a 2-point conversion for the Lions.

Volleyball

TMS beats Pine Tree

TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas Middle School’s eighth-grade A team defeated Pine Tree in three sets Thursday night, 25-11, 23-25, 25-18.

Kemiya Beasley led the Lady Tigers with 16 points and teammate Anna Lee added 13 points.

TMS won their seventh-grade A team match with Pine Tree, 18-25, 25-14, 25-23.

Alana Kessler led the Tigers with 12 points.

Tennis Hawks down Hogs

TEXARKANA, Texas — Pleasant Grove’s varsity tennis team hosted Arkansas High, defeating the Razorbacks, 11-9, in their team competitio­n.

“This was a barn burner and a great battle against the Hogs,” Hawk head coach Erik Pickett said.

Pleasant Grove travels to Mount Pleasant on Saturday, facing Whitehouse at 9 a.m.
