Execution of warrant leads to six arrests on meth charges
Six people have been arrested in Miller County after investigators served a felony warrant at a local trailer park.
Deputies arrested Sean Conkey, 20, on a felony probation violation. Also arrested were Casey Smith, 30, on a felony warrant out of Dallas County; Carrie Simms, 31, Skyler Martin, 20, Corey Phelps, 27 and Cody Hendrix, 22, for possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They are all being held at the Miller County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
The arrests resulted when investigator Thomas Whitt and Deputy Rowdy Green of the Miller County Sheriff’s Department went to a mobile home at Ward’s Trailer Park on Saturday, where Whitt was attempting to serve a felony warrant to Conkey, said Capt. Mark Lewis, chief deputy for the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.
Whitt observed Conkey run into a trailer. Upon further examination of the trailer, Whitt observed several occupants lying on the floor and on beds and after attempting to make contact they were determined to be unresponsive. Investigators entered the home to check on the status of the unresponsive people and observed what they believed to be drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine laying in plain view inside the trailer.
No medical attention was required, and the deputies arrested multiple people on outstanding felony warrants and for the offense of possession of a controlled substance, along with drug paraphernalia. Whitt requested assistance from a Miller County member of the Bi-State Narcotics Task Force, who gained a search warrant to enable deputies to search the trailer. Following the execution of the search warrant, deputies recovered about 14.21 ounces of meth, which has a street value of about $80,000
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
