Thelma Lilean Kinsey, better known as Lilean to everyone (except her grandchild­ren, who called her Gammy Gammy), died on December 27, 2017 at the age of 100 Years and 2 months.

Lilean was born on November 2, 1917 to Floyd and Dora Reece Friday, in Henderson County, Texas. She was four when the family moved to Van Zandt County. In 1926 they moved to Roscoe, Texas and in 1933 to Lamesa, Texas and then to Midland, Texas in 1934 where she met Earl Kinsey. They were married on February 2, 1936. They had three children, Royce, Clyde and Glynda.

Lilean worked seven years at Greenwood School in the cafeteria before going to work for JCPenney where she stayed until her retirement 35 years later.

She was a faithful member of Greenwood Baptist Church since 1953 and belonged to the Prairie Lee Home Demonstrat­ion Club since 1950.

Lilean was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years; parents; brothers, Truman Friday, and Corble Friday and by one granddaugh­ter Robyn Kinsey Womble.

She is survived by her sons, Royce Kinsey and wife Sandra of Texarkana, Texas and Clyde Kinsey and wife Freda of Midland, Texas; daughter, Glynda Kinsey Bremer and husband Randall Bremer of Flower Mound; five grandchild­ren; seven great grandchild­ren; seven great great grandchild­ren; three nieces and one nephew.

The family would like to thank Carla Sisco for her loving kindness to Lilean and the ladies at Brookdale Retirement Center for their care.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Ellis Funeral Home. Services will be in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 with burial following at Resthaven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Home Hospice or the charity of your choice.
