Fox News analyst to speak at TAMU-T
Fox News political analyst Juan Williams will speak at Texas A&M University-Texarkana as part of the school’s Program for Learning and Community Engagement.
It will be held at 7 p.m.
Feb. 9 in Eagle Hall of the University Center.
Williams has been with Fox News since 1997 and is co-host of “The Five.” He also serves as the political analyst for Fox and is a regular panelist on “Fox News Sunday” and “Special Report with Bret Baier.” He is also a regular substitute host for “The O’Reilly Factor.”
He spent more than 10 years with National Public Radio, where he was a senior national correspondent and news analyst. He also worked at The Washington Post for 23 years and as a national correspondent covered major political campaigns from 1980 to 2000. He’s interviewed President Obama and former presidents including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan.
Williams has won many journalism awards, plus an Emmy Award for television documentary writing. He’s also received acclaim for documentary projects including “Politics: The New Black Power” and “A. Phillip Randolph: For Jobs and Freedom.”
Williams has also written six books including “Eyes on the Prize: America’s Civil Rights Years, 19541965” and “Thurgood Marshall: American Revolutionary.” His articles have also been published in national magazines such as Time, Fortune, The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic, Ebony and GQ. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Haverford College.
“We are excited to bring such a prominent author and news contributor to A&MTexarkana,” Dr. Michael Perri, associate professor of history and chair of the PLACE Committee at A&MTexarkana, said in a press release. “His insightful perspectives will generate thinking and contribute to the discussion of race and ethnicity within our growing learning community.”
PLACE is a faculty-led program designed to create a community of learners. This lecture is part of this year’s theme of Race and Ethnicity.
