Four States band competitio­n scheduled for this Saturday

The Four States Invitation­al Marching Contest will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tiger Stadium at Grim Park. Approximat­ely 3,800 students from 22 schools in the Four States area are expected to attend as they prepare for regional contests. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 per student. The public is invited to attend.

This year’s judges include Bill Brent, former director of bands for Northweste­rn State University in Natchitoch­es, La.; Ross Grant, director of bands for Irving High School in Irving, Texas; and Mark Melton, director of bands for Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas. Percussion judge will be Aaron Seal, director of percussion for Arkadelphi­a High School in Arkadelphi­a, Ark. Color guards will be judged by Phyllis Deese, director of human resources for Texarkana College.

■ 12:15 p.m., BREAK

■ 12:45 p.m., Mt. Vernon

■ 1 p.m., Hooks High

School

■ 1:15 p.m., Ashdown High School

■ 1:30 p.m., Redwater High School

■ 1:45 p.m., Queen City

High School

■ 2 p.m., Hemphill High School

■ 2:15 p.m., BREAK

2:30 p.m., Benton High
