New Arkansas highway map available

-

The new state highway map is now available from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, according to AHTD Director Scott Bennett.

The cover of the new map features state Highway 5 in Stone County. The map includes the latest route and destination changes for Arkansas travelers.

The cities on the front and back of the map have changed from a bright yellow color to a more subtle color to enhance roads and other features. The back of the map includes detailed maps of major Arkansas cities. Also, city limits have been updated, and some city streets have been added or removed for better clarity, Bennett said.

The map also shows all state parks in Arkansas and provides a directory of public recreation areas including historic memorials, national parks, national forest recreation areas and Corps of Engineers parks.

More than one million maps are expected to be distributed free of charge to the public over the next 12 months.

The maps may be obtained, at no charge, at all Arkansas Welcome Centers and at Highway Department District Headquarters across the state. Visit arkansas.com/travel-tools/ welcome-centers for information about welcome centers and arkansashighways.com/ about/locations.aspx to find Highway Department District Headquarters.

Maps are also available at the AHTD Central Office at 10324 Interstate 30 in Little Rock, by phone at 501-569-2444 or online at idrivearkansas.com/contact/request-a-map.
