Mustangs go 4-o to end 2022

Sweetwater’s boys won all four of their games at the end of December, including a three-game sweep at the Anson Holiday tournament, to run their win streak to nine games and improve to 15-6 overall. At Anson, the Mustangs beat Iowa Park 57-50 to begin play and reached the title game by beating Seymour, 48-46.

Sweetwater then won 54-43 over the JV boys team from Wylie, before going to Wichita Falls for a 45-39 win Dec. 31.

Roscoe’s girls took third place at Anson in their division following a 41-31 victory in their final contest against Roby. Meanwhile, the Roscoe boys went 1-2 after they fell to Gunter 43-29 in their consolatio­n final. Roscoe lost to the Wylie JV and beat Post in its other two games and the girls beat Sweetwater and lost to Wall.
