Delta Private Jets on Tuesday opened a new maintenance, repair and overhaul location at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
A subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, Delta Private Jets provides aircraft charter services, aircraft management and membership programs. The new location includes a 15,000-square-foot hangar and an additional 2,200-square-foot office space on Sheltair Aviation Services property.
Gary Hammes, president of Delta Private Jets, said the South Florida location provides “consistent control of our aircraft while offering retail services.”
The company’s flagship maintenance center is located at the Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Bob Swindell, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, said Delta Private Jets’ choice of Fort Lauderdale underscores the community’s reputation as an aviation hub.
“We’re excited Delta Private Jets chose to add these valuable targeted industry jobs here in Greater Fort Lauderdale,” Swindell said.
The new location will grow to a full service, 24-hour/seven-day operation later this year, Delta Private Jets said in a news release.
Services will eventually include aircraft inspections, mechanical and structural repair services, avionics repair and installation, engine change, aircraft conformity, and advanced troubleshooting.
