Two teens have been linked to more than 100 car burglaries in Pembroke Pines and Pembroke Park, authorities said.

Isaac Destine, 18, of Miramar, and a 17-year-old accomplice were caught around 3:30 a.m. on Friday while putting various items into a gray Nissan Rogue parked inside La Estancia Townhomes in Pembroke Park.

A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy approached their car and saw a 12-gauge pistol grip shotgun, an AK-47 drum magazine and a revolver in plain view. There was also a large amount of cash on the front seat of the car, the sheriff’s office said.

The pistol grip shotgun had been reported stolen from a car earlier in the night in Pembroke Pines, the sheriff’s office said.

During a search of one of their homes, detectives found cash, drugs and several stolen items from various open cases in both cities, the sheriff’s office said. Detectives also recovered an additional loaded firearm reported stolen out of Pembroke Pines.

The items recovered linked the teens to 40 car burglaries in Pembroke Park and 64 car burglaries in Pembroke Pines, including a crime spree the night before, when three dozen vehicles were broken into in at least three different Pembroke Pines apartment complexes.

Destine is being held at the Broward Main Jail on a $34,500 bond. He is charged with multiple counts of petit theft, criminal mischief, burglarizing cars, possession of marijuana and grand theft of a firearm.

His accomplice was charged with grand theft of a firearm, the sheriff’s office said. Both teens are likely to face additional charges as the investigation continues.
