The NFL suspended Jets cornerback Rashard Robinson on Wednesday for four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy stemming from an arrest in December that included possession of edible marijuana.
Robinson, a graduate of Blanche Ely High School, was a non-factor last season after the Jets gave a fifthround pick to the 49ers before the trade deadline for him. He recorded two tackles and no pass breakups in six games for Gang Green.
The Jets play host to the Miami Dolphins in the second game of the season, on Sept. 16.
Robinson is eligible to return after the game in Jacksonville on Oct. 30.
An NFL spokesman told the Daily News on Wednesday that the league is still reviewing cases for Robby Anderson (two arrests in the past year), Dylan Donahue (DUIs) and Chris Herndon (DUI). Rookie safety Brandon Bryant, who was arrested for DUI in January, won’t be disciplined since his incident occurred while in college.
Wide receiver ArDarius Stewart is facing a twogame PED suspension as well.
