On the job

What’s new: When I was in law school, same-sex marriage was just starting to enter the national consciousness. Another major change has been in the legal standards and assumptions regarding the role of parents before and after divorce.

Professional development: Although I am a member of several professional associations, I have benefited the most from being mentored by more senior attorneys who have taken the time to guide me throughout my career.

Knowledge: Sometimes you need to stop talking and instead listen to what others have to say. It truly is important to keep an open mind. People will surprise you, good and bad.
