Red Sox 7,A’s 4: Rusney Castillo had a solo home run and an RBI single in a seven-run rally in the eighth. Xander Bogaerts delivered a go-ahead two-run double. Orioles 7, Indians 3: Matt Wieters hit his first HR in more than a year, Adam Jones homered and Bud Norris won in his return from the DL, striking out seven. Pirates 3, Braves 0: Gerrit Cole struck out seven in seven innings to win his fourth straight start. Starling Marte drove in two runs. The Pirates have won five of six. Cubs 6, Nationals 3: Kris Bryant singled, doubled, tripled and scored twice. Jason Motte earned his first save since 2012. The Nationals have lost eight of 10. Phillies 6, Giants 4: Jeff Francoeur’s two-run double helped the Phils end a three-game skid. The Giants’ Joe Panik (three hits) extended his hitting streak to 12. Royals 4, Rangers 3: Salvador Perez homered in the eighth to win it. Jeremy Guthrie limited the Rangers to one hit the first six innings but got a no-decision. Mets 6, D’backs 3: Curtis Granderson hit two of the Mets’ four HRs off Josh Collmenter. Jacob deGrom won his fourth straight, striking out 10 in seven innings. Twins 2, Brewers 0: Mike Pelfrey struck out seven in eight innings, his longest outing in three years. Glen Perkins got his 21st save. Reds 4, Padres 0: Jay Bruce homered twice to drive in all four runs. Johnny Cueto struck out nine in seven four-hit innings. Tigers 6, White Sox 4: Yoenis Cespedes and J.D. Martinez homered. Jeff Samardzija gave up six runs and 10 hits in 71⁄ IP.
