Starkville Quarterback Club to begin 58th season

- For Starkville Daily News

This year brings many challenges, changes and opportunities for the Starkville Quarterback Club.

With the Starkville Country Club under renovation, the Starkville Quarterback Club will be utilizing two new venues for this fall's club meetings.

The first three meetings, August 31, September 7 and 14 will be held at The Mill. The remaining meetings will be at the Hilton Garden Inn. Both venues will be providing great food items weekly with some brand new items and some old favorites from the SCC.

The Club also announces that Walkon's Sports Bistreaux of Starkville is the title sponsor for 2023. Sponsorships are still available for the 2023 season at $500 and $800 levels. Reach out to 2023 Starkville Quarterback Club president Gary Blair or any of our board members for sponsorship details or https:// starkvillequarterbackclub.com/.

The Starkville Quarterback Club begins its 58th season. The club was organized September 8, 1966, and with the continued loyal support of our membership through seven decades ranks as one of the footballcrazed South's longest running such organizations. The Mill and Hilton Garden Inn have agreed to serve as host for our Thursday night dinner events (Tuesday for the Thanksgiving week road battle for the Golden Egg in Starkville) along with the year-end dinner event on December 12th.

Even though the food and venue costs are going up the board of directors of the Starkville Quarterback Club agree to keep the membership dues for 2023 at $225 for the 13 meetings. The first 125 sponsor and individual applications at https:// starkvillequarterbackclub.com/ will receive a free Maroon T-shirt with the Starkville QB Club logo on the front and the Walk-on's logo on the back and also be in the drawing for the autographed football helmet if paid in advance by August 25.

The meetings will follow the similar format as in recent years, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. social followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m. A member of the Mississippi State coaching staff will be on hand to provide a scouting report on the upcoming opponent and updates on the Bulldog team while a variety of State and football-related guest speakers will take the podium to inform and entertain.

New MSU Athletic Director Zac Selmon will kick off this season's speaker lineup on August 31. Dari Nowkhah of the SEC Network will bring his knowledge of college athletics from across the nation and especially the SEC to the Starkville Quarterback Club on September 7 and then new Bulldog head coach Zach Arnett requested a move to the opening SEC weekend with LSU on September 14.
