About this guide
The Maryland Independent sent out an email to local candidates running for office in the primary election where there are contested races. The email asked candidates one simple question: In 500 words or less, “Why should voters choose you instead of your opponent in the June 26 primary?” Not included in this guide are candidates who are uncontested in the primary. Also not included, due to space constraints are: Candidates for Maryland Governor; Candidates for Senate; Candidates for House of Representatives; Candidates for Maryland Senate Dist. 27 (Charles, Calvert, Prince George’s); Candidates for Maryland House of Delegates Dist. 27 A (Prince George’s, Charles); Candidates for Resgister of Wills; Candidates for Charles County Clerk of the Circuit Court; Candidates for Charles County Circuit Court Judge; Canidates for Judge of Oprhan’s Court; Candidates for Charles County Sheriff (only one profile submitted, from current incumbent); Candidates for Republican Central Committee; and Candidates for Democratic Central Committee. Candidate profiles provided here were edited minorly by the editor of the Maryland Independent. All content was provided by the candidates or their respective campaign staffs. If a profile is missing and not listed above, the candidate did not respond by deadline, which was May 25.
