Indiana man accused of enticing Broward kids to get naked online
Coerced to expose themselves on their phones, computers
Fort Lauderdale — A 59-year-old Indiana man is accused of contacting children in Broward County and coercing them into exposing themselves on their cellphones or computers.
Pierre Alexander Detarnowsky Jr., of Morgantown, was arrested in Brown County, Indiana, Oct. 1 on four charges that included soliciting a minor for unlawful sexual activity via computer and lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim 12 to 16 years of age by an offender over 18, court records showed.
He was extradited to
Broward County and jailed Nov. 21.
At his court hearing Saturday, eight more charges were added that also included transmitting material by electronic device that is harmful to minors and unlawful use of a two-way communication device, records show.
His preliminary bond on the eight additional charges totaled $200,000.
According to the arrest report, Detarnowsky used online services between Sept. 25, 2018 and April 7, 2019, to “seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child ... to engage in unlawful sexual activity via a two-way communication device, to wit: a cellphone.”
The report stated that on March 27, he contacted a child between the ages of 12 and 16 and asked the child to fondle themselves.
Also, in early April, while in Indiana, Detarnowsky transmitted to a child in South Florida, “an image, information or data that is harmful to minors,” the report stated.
Further details of the Detarnowsky’s alleged contact with children were not immediately available.
Another court hearing is scheduled for Monday.
