The City of Boca Raton recently hired Pedro
Moras as its innovation strategist to further promote innovation and the use of technology within the community. In the past, Moras cofounded PetMio, a pet food-technology startup that utilizes advanced artificial intelligence technology to create personalized pet nutrition products. He was also managing partner at the Konnected Minds Group, a Miami based innovation consultancy.
Miami Beach City Commission appointed Bo Martinez as the new economic development director, charged with rolling out the red carpet for the business community and cutting out the red tape. In his most recent role at the City and County of Broomfield, Colorado, Martinez was responsible for enhancing the city’s revenue base, pursuing investments in transportation and development, connecting people and jobs and ultimately facilitating community revitalization.
Day Pitney LLP announced that Partner
Michael J. Napoleone of the firm’s West Palm Beach office has been appointed vice-mayor of the Village of Wellington, Napoleone has served on the Village Council since 2016 and he is the first non-sitting council member elected without opposition in the history of the Village. He was previously a partner of Richman Greer, which joined Day Pitney LLP in January.
Port Authority
The Broward County Commission approved the appointment of Glenn Wilt
shire as acting chief executive and port director of Port Everglades following the recent death of Steven Cernak. Wiltshire has been deputy port director since 2006.

Additionally, Carolyn Rose was promoted to senior vice president, Jewish Community Foundation, and Jeff Trynz to senior vice president, marketing and strategic initiatives.

Atlantic | Pacific Companies, with its headquarters in Miami, announced that
Krista Rojas was promoted from regional manager to director of regional operations in Florida and Shanon Pereira was promoted from regional manager to director of marketing development.
Housing Trust Group, a multifamily developer, including affordable housing in Florida, has appointed Executive Vice President Max Cruz to lead all multifamily development activity in Florida, in Miami. Prior to joining HTG in 2018, he was a vice president of development for the Related Group’s luxury market rate division.

The Women’s Council of Realtors has selected Amy Snook, a partner in the All About Florida Homes Team of Keller Williams Realty, to participate in their first-ever inaugural Women’s Council of Realtors Leadership Institute, limited to 15 participants from across the country each year. The Leadership Institute is an initiative that seeks to further develop leaders who have demonstrated leadership potential through their local and state networks.

Investor and developer of urban infill self-storage facilities MCSS Development & Investment LLC has named Ben Carr its new president. In the past, Carr launched and operated a self-storage investment fund while providing consulting services for numerous large private equity groups interested in self-storage investment. He was chief investment officer of LifeStorage in Roseville, Calif. Carr also spent eight years at CubeSmart, where he held the roles of vice president, investments and controller. Before that, Carr spent several years in various roles with Pricewater-houseCoopers.
