OSCEOLA - Margaret “Peg” (Kobold) Finney, born November 4, 1923, age 100, passed away December 7th at Riverside Village, Elkhart, IN.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Anna (Meier) Kobold, by her husband George, and by her five sisters: Edna (Henry) Biesbrook, Helen (Harry, “Mike”) Contat, Elnor (Henry) Schnitzer, Bernice (Mike) Kerrn and Louise (David) Finney.

Margret worked as a dishwasher and food preparer at Nicky D’s restaurant for many years. She was an avid bowler in a local league for several years. She was a passionate gardener, and her backyard was full of flower beds and flowering trees and bushes. She likewise had a large assortment of house plants she tended year-round. As she had no children of her own, she loved her extended family of nieces and nephews and the family get-togethers that were held on various holidays.

Margret would like to thank the staff at Riverside Village and Heart to Heart Hospice for their care in her waning years. Her nephew Dennis, and his late wife Annette, for their care and taking on guardiansh­ip responsibi­lities. Her nephew Bob and his wife Cerelda for their many visits from southern Indiana and for giving a home to her beloved cat, Buttercup. Her neighbor Diana, true friend and caregiver. Her special friend Mary, her hairdresse­r.

In keeping with Margret’s wishes there will be no viewing or services. Arrangemen­ts are being handled by Cruz Funeral Home, Osceola. She will rest beside her husband at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
