Lady Panthers go 3-2 at Spikefest

The Siloam Springs volleyball team went 3-2 overall at the Little Rock Spikefest on Saturday at Little Rock Christian Academy.

The Lady Panthers (52) began the day with a 2-0 loss (25-14, 25-15) to Class 4A Valley View — a program which has won 12 state championsh­ips since 2003.

After the loss to the Lady Blazers, Siloam Springs then won its next three matches.

The Lady Panthers defeated Class 6A Cabot 2-0 (25-22, 25-18) led by nine kills from Ellie Lampton and six kills from Reigan Brown. Rachel Conrad had three blocks, while Kelsey Lewis and Chloe Price each had two aces and Lewis 10 digs.

The Lady Panthers defeated Jacksonvil­le 2-0 (25-23, 25-4). Lampton led the way with 10 kills and seven digs, while Price had seven kills and three aces, Jael Harried two blocks and Lewis 11 digs.

Siloam Springs’ third win of the day came 2-1 against Class 6A Van Buren (27-25, 22-25, 15-9). Lampton finished with 15 kills and two aces. Harried had three blocks and Conrad two blocks, while Lewis had nine digs and two aces.

The Lady Panthers were defeated in bracket play by Fort Smith Northside 2-0 (25-18, 25-17). Northside went on to play Valley View in the championsh­ip.

Siloam Springs was scheduled to return to action Tuesday at Harrison. Results were not available at presstime.
