Fitchburg man held without bail pending dangerousness hearing
FITCHBURG » A city man, who was arrested Sunday for allegedly attacking his girlfriend and attempting to choke her, was ordered held without bail pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing, according to police and court documents.
On Sunday, officers were called to a Normandy Road residence on a report of a possible domestic abuse, police said.
When they arrived they spoke to a city woman who told them Fernando J. Arman, 34, of Thomas Street, had become angry and grabbed her by the neck, restricting her breathing before throwing her into a wall at the Normandy Road home, police said.
After throwing the victim against a wall, Arman grabbed her by the neck again, leaving her weak and dizzy with red swollen marks on her neck, police said. As a result, Arman was charged with domestic assault and battery and strangulation or suffocation, according to court documents.
When arraigned Monday, he was ordered held until Jan. 11 without bail pending the outcome of the dangerousness hearing, according to court documents. Arman pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to court documents.

FITCHBURG » A Westminster woman was arrested on New Year’s Day on several charges related to attacking her sister in an unknown dispute, according to po
lice and court documents.
When police arrived at a Meadowbrook Lane apartment they spoke to the sister of Trixi M. Lazarin, 27, of N. Common Road, who told officers Lazarin had attacked her by pulling her hair and biting one of her fingers hard enough to break the skin.
During the altercation, Lazarin’s boyfriend attempted to break up the fight, but he was also bitten by Lazarin on his arm, the man told police.
Lazarin also punched her sister’s television, breaking its screen, police
said.
When the responding officer attempted to place Lazarin into custody she kicked him in the leg and attempted to bite him, police said.
As a result of the incident, Lazarin was charged with domestic assault and battery, assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, vandalizing property, and resisting arrest, according to court documents.
When arraigned on Monday, she was released and ordered to return to court on March 23 for a pretrial hearing, according to court documents.
After her initial arrest and booking she had posted $200 bail and was released.
