Real Madrid sets friendly at Oracle

Champions League winner Real Madrid will face Mexico’s Club America at San Francisco’s Oracle Park on July 26 as part of a five-team, nine-day summer tour in the U.S.

The tour will kick off July 22 with Italy’s Juventus meeting America at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Real Madrid will play Barcelona the next day in the same stadium. Chivas de Guadalajar­a is also appearing in the series.

Barcelona is scheduled to play two additional friendlies with MLS teams during its U.S. visit, facing Inter Miami on July 19 and the New York Red Bulls on July 30.

⏩ Kylian Mbappe came off the bench to rescue a point for France in a 1-1 draw at Austria in the Nations League in Paris, but the defending champion sits in last place with just two points after three group games.

World Cup winner France is under pressure ahead of Monday night’s must-win home game against Croatia, which won 1-0 at Denmark.

The Danes top Group 1 with six points, while Austria and Croatia have four. Only the group winners make it to the Final Four, while the last-place teams will be relegated.

Tennis: Andy Murray claimed his biggest win more than five years when he defeated topseeded Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6 (4), 6-3 to reach the semifinals of the Stuttgart (Germany) Open.

Murray, 35, saved a set point in the first set against the fifthranke­d Tsitsipas and powered on to claim his first win over an opponent ranked in the top five since beating Novak Djokovic at the World Tour Finals in London in November 2016.

⏩ Top-ranked Iga Swiatek has pulled out of next week’s grass-court tournament in Berlin because of a shoulder problem, saying she needs to rest up ahead of Wimbledon. She joined No. 2 Anett Kontaveit, No. 3 Paula Badosa and former No. 1 Naomi Osaka in pulling out of the event.
