Two Stanford players were on the Associated Press preseason AllAmerica team, and one Cal player landed on the second team.

Led by Alabama, the SEC placed eight players on the first team, one more than the Big Ten.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said on Twitter: “The whole state shares your loss.” Earlier Monday, the library at Arkansas State was illuminated pink in Wendy Anderson’s honor.

Assistant head coach and defensive coordinator David Duggan will serve as interim head coach, athletic director Terry Mohajir said.

Anderson has gone 3925 record in five seasons at Arkansas State. The Red Wolves open the season Aug. 31 by hosting SMU. Freshman to start for Auburn: Freshman Bo Nix will be Auburn’s starting quarterback in the season opener.

He was a fivestar prospect rated the nation’s top dualthreat quarterback in the 247Sports composite rankings. Nix’s father, Patrick, played quarterback for the Tigers from 1992 through ’95.
