Liz Stevens was born to Samuel Butler and Carmela Martellotti Butler in Herkimer, New York, where she spent her early years in a large Italian family.

She leaves a gap in our lives as the senior matriarch of her generation.

In 1961 Liz married Richard Stevens and had two children, Chris and Julie.

In the early 70’s Liz came out as a lesbian. starting a new chapter as an activist and filmmaker with her then partner Frances Reid.

In the mid 80’s Liz became a licensed real estate agent & broker She endeared herself to both clients and fellow agents with her smart and generous style.

In the late 1990’s she met and married Nancy Oswald.

She lived a big, unapologetic life, was dearly loved, and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her wife Nancy Oswald, by Julie and Chris Stevens, sister Virginia Dean, grandchildren Henry and Angie Stevens, her best friend Frances Reid, and by a large extended family that brought her so much happiness.

In gratitude and kindness. Rest in peace Bibbit.
