Karen Fitzgerald, a native of San Francisco, CA passed away August 4, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. She had courageously battled Multiple Sclerosis for 32 years

Karen was born on September 21, 1965 to David and Mary (Maureen) Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her father, David, her brothers William and James and sister Eileen.

She is survived by her mother, Mary, who cared for her through all her years of illness. Karen is also survived by her loving sister Joan (Tony) Anderson and her dearest brother John. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins in San Francisco, Ireland and London.

Karen attended Holy Name Grammar School (Class of 1980) and Presentation High School (class of 1984). She was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan. She had a great love for children and for animals (especially her dear dog Belle). She was a beautiful and strong willed woman who was proud of her Irish heritage. She will be deeply missed by all of us who knew and loved her.

We would like to thank all of our friends and family who have helped us throughout the years. We also want to give special thanks to Karen’s wonderful caregivers, Emily (10 years) and Lennie (1 year).
