Chiefs’ QB Mahomes robbed in Texas
Authorities in Texas say Kansas Chiefs rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes was unharmed after being robbed last weekend. The Smith County, Texas, Sheriff ’s Office said Mahomes and three other victims were stepping from a vehicle on a driveway Friday night when a suspect approached, gestured he had a handgun in his waistband, stole property from them and sped away. Deputies later arrested two suspects.
Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, the fiancee of former NFL player Aaron Hernandez, said on the “Dr. Phil” TV show that she does not think that his death in his prison cell April 19 was a suicide, as authorities have ruled.
She said he was upbeat in their last telephone conversation just hours before he was found hanged, and told her and their daughter that “Daddy’s going to come home.” Hernandez’s suicide came just days after he was acquitted in a 2012 double slaying.
