Tickets for A’s Feb. 8 FanFest on sale Thursday

Tickets to A’s FanFest on Feb. 8 will go on sale Thursday at www.oaklandath­letics.com/fanfest. For the first time, the event, which features free autograph sessions and photo opportunit­ies, will expand to include both O.co Coliseum and Oracle Arena. Tickets are $10 and the event is expected to sell out. Admission is free for children ages 6 and under. Parking is also free.

The A’s agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Jesse Chavez, who was 2-4 with a save and a career-low 3.92 ERA in 35 games over two stints with Oakland last season.

Former A’s All-Star catcher Ramon Hernandez has agreed to a minor-league contract with Kansas City. The 37-year-old is a career .263 hitter in 15 seasons in the major leagues.

Hernandez was an All-Star in 2003 with Oakland, hitting 21 home runs. He also has played for San Diego, Baltimore, Cincinnati and Colorado. College football: Florida State finished No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll, ending the SEC’s record streak of seven national championsh­ips.

The Seminoles received all 60 first-place votes from the media panel after beating Auburn 34-31 in the BCS championsh­ip game Monday.

The Tigers (12-2) finished second after winning only three games in 2012.

Michigan State was third after defeating Stanford in the Rose Bowl, while the Cardinal dropped to No. 11.

Auburn left tackle Greg Robinson says he’s leaving for the NFL draft. The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder is projected as a possible first-round pick.
