Frank Joseph “Coach” Villani-Harper

Frank Joseph VillaniHarper “Coach” was born on June 30, 1938, in San Francisco, CA. He was born to Franky M. Villani & Katherine M. Maher. Frank was 84 years old when he was called up for the big dance!

Frank was president of Saint Peter & Paul’s Holy Name Society, a member and past (of senior positions holder) in the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club, a member of the American Legion, President of Dance Connection, a devote Catholic who attended mass at a variety of churches in the city throughout his lifetime, & a member of the Veterans Boxing Association. Frank attended Sacred Heart H.S. graduating on 6/13/1956, attended College of San Mateo, and graduated from San Francisco State in 1963. Frank was a hard worker and started his career at an early age as a newspaper delivery boy in the Inner Sunset area of S.F. Also, at a very young age Frank was working for his stepdad, Kenneth Harper at the family jewelry business out of the Phelan building in downtown S.F. He drove a Taxi for City cab, became a S.F. Police Patrol Specialist. During college Frank discovered he wanted to become a Coach and felt the best way to do that was through an education career where he became a Teacher, Principal, and school administrator. Frank taught and coached at Barstow H.S., Burroughs H.S., Sunnyvale H.S., Woodrow Wallace in Lake Isabella, Central Catholic in Modesto, Boron H.S. Frank was married twice once to Linda D. Laber, 1961, & Barbara Downard, 1965.

Frank is survived by his children, Richard P. Harper, Laurie A. Harper, Michelle M. Harper, Frankie J. Villani and his siblings, Anne Marie Harper, Kenneth George Harper, Lester Maher Harper.

Frank has 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren who he LOVED dearly!

Frank is also survived by his eldest living relative is Rita Mary Villani “Aunt Mary” who is 92 years young, her living children, and Franks dearest cousins, Diane Villani Klein, & Joanne (Villani) Johnson.

Frank is predeceased by Scott Kenneth Harper, age 3 months, Lisa Diane Harper, age 25 and James William Christopher Harper, age 26.

Services for Frank’s family & friends will be held at St. Peter & Paul’s Church on 8/5/2022 at 10 am on Filbert St. San Francisco, CA.
