Netherland­s blanks Germany in Nations League match

Germany’s UEFA Nations League campaign suffered a blow with a 3-0 loss at old rival Netherland­s.

Following its disastrous World Cup defense in Russia, Germany remains without a win in the top-tier League A and has yet to score a goal.

“Why are we not scoring? That’s difficult to answer, we have clear chances,” coach Joachim Loew said. “Had we lost 1-0, it would have been acceptable, but breaking apart like this in the last 10 minutes is not good.”

The defeat left Germany at the bottom of Group 1 with one point, days before it heads to Paris to take on group leader and World Cup champion France.

In League D, Gibraltar won its first competitiv­e game on a memorable night for the tiny territory. The 1-0 win at Armenia came after after losing its previous 22 competitiv­e games.  In Major League Soccer, Yannick Boli and Niki Jackson scored second-half goals and the Colorado Rapids won 2-0 at Minnesota United to snap a seven-game losing streak . ... Cristian Penilla and Diego Fagundez scored second-half goals to help the host New England Revolution beat Orlando City 2-0 . ... Russell Canouse scored in the 86th minute and host D.C. United moved into playoff position with a 1-0 victory over Western Conference-leading FC Dallas.

NBA: The Knicks waived 33-year-old center Joakim Noah with two years and $37.8 million remaining on his contract.

 The New Orleans Pelicans waived former Warriors guard Jarrett Jack.

NFL: The Cleveland Browns signed free agent wide receiver Breshad Perriman, a former first-round draft pick.

Motor sports: Kurt Busch led a Stewart-Haas Racing sweep to put all four of the company cars up front at Alabama’s Talladega Superspeed­way. Busch turned a lap at 195.804 mph to qualify in the top spot for Sunday’s NASCAR race. He edged teammate Clint Bowyer, who qualified second, ahead of Kevin Harvick.

 Mick Schumacher, 19, son of seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher, secured the Formula 3 European Championsh­ip title on the final weekend by finishing second in Hockenheim, Germany.

Golf: Gary Woodland birdied the 18th hole for a 5-under-par 67 and a three-way tie for the lead with Marc Leishman (67) and Shubhankar Sharma (66) at 19-under 197 after three rounds of the PGA Tour’s CIMB Classic in Malaysia.

 Danielle Kang and Charley Hull shot 4-under 68s to retain the lead at 12-under 204 after three rounds of the LPGA Tour’s KEB Hana Bank Championsh­ip at Incheon, South Korea. Ariya Jutanugarn was one stroke behind after a 69.

 Bernhard Langer shot a 5-under 67 to earn a share of the lead at PGA Tour Champions event in Cary, N.C. At 15-under 129, Langer is tied with Gene Sauers.
