SAN DIEGO — Clifford Harold “Cliff ” Miller, 91, San Diego, CA, passed away December 31, 2020 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born in San Francisco, CA on July 1, 1929, son of Harold Edward Miller and Jessie Corliss Fisher.

Cliff entered the Navy during World War II and continued service in the Korean War. He was decorated, honorably discharged, and transferre­d the Fleet Reserve. Upon retirement from the Navy, he worked in defense industry including at Maxwell Laboratori­es in San Diego. He was an expert welder, certified to weld equipment used in Navy nuclear powered ships, and he was one of the few to master “overhead welding”, an extremely difficult part of the trade. At Maxwell, Cliff was on the Research and Design team for the Navy “Rail Gun” project now in developmen­t.

Cliff was preceded in death by his wife Corazon Parcularin Miller. He is survived by children Patty Obenhause, Edward Miller (Maritza), Gloria Gabriola Damm (Robert), Sharon Gabriola Rodgers (Chuck), Terrence Gabriola (Lorraine), Anthony Gabriola (Leslie), Vernon Allen Gabriola, by sisters, Shirley Hopkins and Sandy Sawyer (Gary), and by nine grandchild­ren and seven great grandchild­ren.

Cliff loved small sailboats. They brought joy, adventure and his best friends Gail, Deborah, and Jim. He was on local yacht racing teams and made several long ocean passages.

El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley in San Diego, CA will provide cremation services. A Burial-at-sea for immediate family and friends will be held at a date and time to be announced.
