Dr. Dick Oliver Creamer peacefully passed away on Saturday morning April 27, 2024 surrounded by his children and grandchild­ren.

Dick was born March 22, 1926 in Oklahoma City, OK to Laura Ankeny and Paul Creamer. Dick’s family lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma and Waco, Texas before moving to San Antonio.

He graduated from Jefferson High school where he was the Junior and Senior class president and where he met the love of his life, Nancy Bowen. They both attended the University of Texas Austin where Dick was president of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity in 1945.

With bitterswee­t sorrow, we announce the passing of our dearly loved mother and grandmothe­r, Olga Medina Gabriel. Olga departed this world peacefully in her sleep on April 24, 2024, in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 28, 1934, to Jovita and Fred V. Medina and grew up on San Antonio’s Eastside. Olga was 89 years of age. Raised alongside her six siblings, Fred Medina Jr., Velia M. Escalante, Henry Medina, Delmira M. Guerra, Adolf Medina and Edward Medina, Olga, was the middle child with a jovial spirit that loved to sing and dance.

Olga married Johnny Gabriel at age 17 and their union brought them four remarkable children: Johnny, Ronnie, Inez Cindy and Eleanor who she loved unconditio­nally. In her later years, she relished her role as a grandmothe­r, showering love and attention to her 13 grandchild­ren and 7 great grandchild­ren. Olga’s life was anchored and Nancy were married.

Dick graduated from Baylor College Medicine on June 12, 1950 where he was president of the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity and president of his senior class. Following graduation, he served in the Korean War on a United States Navy medical ship from 1951-1953.

He then completed his Fellowship of Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota from 1953-1956.

Dick and Nancy had two daughters, Charlotte Anne Creamer and Carolyn Creamer Mayo.

The family returned to San Antonio in 1957 where their son John Bowen Creamer was born in her family, and she enjoyed large family gatherings where her children and grandchild­ren could come together to participat­e. She loved bright beautiful colors and enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays and had a special gift of creating amazing displays with beautiful themes and special attention to detail. She loved to travel and enjoyed the tradition of visiting and gambling in Las Vegas.

Olga’s legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to have known her. Her kindness, integrity, and devotion to her family will be forever cherished. As we celebrate Olga’s life, we carry with us her love of God and her belief in His love, guidance and protection.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jovita Medina, her siblings, Fred Jr., Velia , Henry , Adolf and Edward and is survived by her sister Delmira M. Guerra and four children, on his father’s birthday 1967.

Dick and Nancy built a home in Terrell Hills in 1962 where they were the proud owners of the neighborho­ods first pickle ball court.

Dr. Creamer practiced internal medicine in San Antonio for over 50 years, retiring at the age of 74. Dr. Creamer had an enormous impact on the medical community of San Antonio and was a proud member and past president of the Texas Club of Internal Medicine.

Dick was a member of The Texas Cavaliers, The Order of The Alamo, The San Antonio German Club, The Conopus Club, San Antonio Kiwanis club (past president), Texas Johnny Gabriel Jr. (Rita) Ronald Gabriel (Rosabel), Inez Cindy Gabriel (Gina Saucedo), Eleanor Gabriel Pfirrmann (Jim), her grandchild­ren, Devin Gabriel (Amanda), Regan Gabriel (Maryel Valdez), Christian Gabriel, Sonny Gabriel, Ryan Gabriel (Patricia), Michael Gabriel (Lisa), Anthony Gabriel (Allison) Sarah Lopez Gabriel, Jaden Gabriel, Beckett Gabriel, Alexander Pfirrmann, James Pfirrmann, Isabela Pfirrmann and her great grandchild­ren, Rhys Gabriel, Hudson Gabriel, Lauren Gabriel, William Gabriel, Ryan Patrick Gabriel, Shawn Gabriel & Audrey Gabriel, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will never forget the love she brought to their lives. Special appreciati­on and recognitio­n to Norma Villareal who helped care for Olga for many years. She loved and depended on Norma and enjoyed her friendship. And to Diana Salazar, her compassion­ate caregiver for the last year. These caring

Dick was preceded in death by his wife , Nancy Bowen Creamer; his parents; and his brother, Paul Creamer.

He is survived by his three children, Charlotte Creamer, Carolyn Creamer Mayo and her husband, Randy Mayo, and Bowen Creamer and his wife, Shawn Robertson Creamer. His grandchild­ren Dolph Mayo, Wes Mayo, Lorraine Felts, Taylor Hoffman, Clay Creamer, Shane Creamer and Guy Creamer. And by his great Grandchild­ren Wes Mayo, Clara Mayo, Porter Felts, Rawlings Felts, Ryann Creamer individual­s were like family and held a special place in her heart. In honor of Olga, the family will hold services on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. followed immediatel­y by a reception at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Ave., San Antonio, Texas 78205. Guests are asked to don colorful dress to celebrate her life and love for color, her favorite being a hue of pink!

Rest in peace, dear Olga. Your luminous spirit continues to inspire all who had the honor of knowing you. Your light shines on in the lives of those you touched, a beacon of love, warmth, and kindness. and Hayden Hoffman.

He was loved and cherished by his family and all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Place, San Antonio, Texas 78212, beginning at 11:00 am with a reception to be held at the church. The Reverend Scott Kitayama, officiatin­g. Serving as pallbearer­s will be Dolph Mayo, Wes Mayo, Jordan
