New Floyd Urgent Care facility on Shorter will open Wednesday
The 8,600-square-foot building will feature 14 patient rooms — double the amount of the current facility.
A new 8,600-square-foot Floyd Urgent Care and Corporate Health facility located at 302 Shorter Ave. will open Wednesday.
Urgent Care patient rooms will double to 14 from seven, and will feature a central nurses’ station with digital patient-tracking monitors, giving nurses quick access to every patient room.
Also available are two procedure rooms, on-site digital imaging and onsite dispensing for commonly prescribed medications.
Urgent Care will continue to be staffed by Dr. Robert Holcombe, Medical
Director of Floyd Urgent Care, Dr. Duriel Gray and Dr. Kristine Mull. Dr. Holcombe has provided care at Floyd Urgent Care for more than 20 years.
Opposite of Urgent
Care will be the new Corporate Health Center to serve employees and families of employers who partner with Floyd Corporate Health for services. Corporate Health
patients will be directed to a dedicated employee lounge that is separate from Urgent Care.
The previous Urgent Care facility, located at 304 Shorter Ave., will be renovated to accommodate the Floyd Center for Wound Care and Hyperbarics, which will relocate from the first floor of Floyd Medical Center after renovations.
Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.
