The Rome Art Coterie will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Oostanaula Room of the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway. Art enthusiast Kelly Wilcox will give a presentation on the art of Burning Man. She will give an overview of what Burning Man and local burns are about and discuss many of the art projects at the burns. The Rome Art Coterie meets the second Tuesday of every month. The Puryear Detachment of the Marine Corps League is holding a Family Day from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday at the American Legion farm, 500 Jones Bend Road. There is no charge and all area Marines — whether active duty, reserve or discharged — and their families are invited. The farm includes a large pond, and those attending are invited to bring fishing gear. Lawn chairs also will be needed. There is a free tax service being offered by the AARP at two locations in Rome. The Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway, is offering the service today and April 17 from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The Charles C. Parker Center, 1325 Kingston Road, will offer tax assistance Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. Those participating should bring a copy of last year’s return and all papers related to income for 2016.
