Jonnie Dale Park (Jon)
Jonnie Dale Park (Jon) passed away on March 2, 2021 due to complications from the Covid 19 Virus & Pneumonia. Jon was a lifelong resident of Tulare County having been born at the Lindsay Hospital in July of 1947 to parents Oscar Park and Robbie Park who were also long-time residents of Tulare County and now deceased. Jon also has a brother, Ron Park of Roseville, California.
Jon attended Strathmore Union High School for a time but graduated from Porterville High School in 1964 with excellent grades. He subsequently joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 where he underwent two years of intensive training at the Navy Nuclear Power School at the Great Lakes and the Nuclear Training Facility at Mare Island, Vallejo, California.
Jon went on to serve five years in the U.S.
Navy and made several combat tours in Vietnam, where he earned Military Awards such as the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars as well as other Military Medals.
Following Military Service, Jon relocated to Fresno, CA for four years, where he attended Fresno State College and earned a Bachelor (BA) Degree in Administration of Justice. He subsequently became disabled but stayed in the Tulare County area to be near his relatives.
Jon was a gentle soul and very loved by everyone. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
