Tailgating limited at Chesney Heinz Field concert

- By Scott Mervis

Kenny Chesney fans will have fewer hours of tailgating time on Saturday — unless they want to miss a couple of the openers.

The Heinz Field parking lots will open at 1 p.m. and the gates at 4 p.m. for the 5 p.m. Big Revival Tour show that will include Eric Church, Brantley Gilbert, Chase Rice and Old Dominion.

This is the country star's first trip back to Pittsburgh since the 2013 show, which resulted in tons of trash left behind and a storm of controversy about tailgating activities outside the stadium.

The lots opened at 10 a.m. for Mr. Chesney’s last appearance and at 11 a.m. for last year’s Luke Bryan show.

Stadium management also released a Parking Lot Code of Conduct that includes no glass containers; no tents; no limos or RVs; no furniture; and, to prevent some of the mess from the last show, no portable port-a-johns. The lots will close at 7 p.m.

Among the items not permitted in the stadium: any bag larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches, backpacks/diaper bags, cans/ bottles/flasks, strollers, banners, weapons, selfie sticks, video cameras and audio equipment.
