Two Kissimmee cops plead guilty in 2014 drug raid case

- By Christal Hayes

Two of the three Kissimmee Police officers accused of planning to raid a hotel room for a 2014 drug case, then lying about it in court, have pleaded guilty.

Officer Danielle Tiffany Hall pleaded guilty to perjury and official misconduct charges but will avoid jail time.

She was sentenced to one year of community control, four years of probation, and community service. She will also have to surrender her law enforcement officer certificate.

Officer Taylor McFee pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of trespassing. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 20.

Hall, McFee and Officer Felix Echevarria were accused of lying under oath about how they captured suspect Jonathan Elliot on marijuana-possession charges.

The accusations came to light in March 2016 during testimony about the 2014 case after the officers’ accounts did not match up with surveillance footage at the hotel.

While under oath, Hall said she saw Elliot make a hand-tohand drug exchange with another man and that he then agreed to talk with her.

She said Elliot was arrested after she found cannabis in his room.

But Elliot said that was not true. He testified that he never talked to Hall before she and the other officers broke into his hotel room.

Surveillance video corroborated his account, and the charges were dropped.

Hall was arrested on charges of perjury, official misconduct and falsifying records. McFee and Echevarria were facing official misconduct charges.

Echevarria’s case is still open, but his trial is scheduled to start Monday.

All three officers were fired last year. The Kissimmee Police Department deferred to the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office for comment.
