BENTONVILL­E — Lola E. Behrends

passed away on July 13, 2021, in the presence of her family and friends. Lola was born on Jan. 19, 1946, in Hopewell, Kan., to George Ackley and Perl VanArsdall Ackley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. James Behrends, and sister Evelyn Wilcox.

She is survived by two sons, Leslie Key and wife, Alanna of Bentonvill­e, Charles Key of Bentonvill­e and daughter-by-choice Melissa Kyle and husband, Mark of Bentonvill­e; seven grandchild­ren, Montana, Mariah, Samantha, Sarah, Savannah, Caleb and Mason; five great- grandchild­ren, Addilynn, Harper, Camden, Willow, Cash and Joaquin; three brothers, Eldon, Ed and Allen; five sisters, Elta, Penny, Betsy, Elsie, Nedra and one half-sister, Jean.

Lola was loved by so many people. She enjoyed playing Bridge, card games of all kinds, Words with Friends, Pickle Ball and going to dinner with friends and family. She traveled the world and enjoyed snow skiing in many states and countries. She was a master quilter who donated much of her time assisting in making quilts for cancer patients with the James Stitching Sisters in Columbus, Ohio. With the help of many of her friends, she organized making personaliz­ed Christmas stockings for the children at Tennie Russell Primary School in Bentonvill­e every Christmas.

Please join us to celebrate her life on Aug. 22, 2021, from 2-6 p.m., at the Meteor Guitar Gallery, 128 W. Central Ave., Bentonvill­e, Ark., with some food and music.
