Hub for emergency, urgent dental care opens in Fayetteville

-

FAYETTEVILLE — A dental office has opened for emergency and urgent dental care as most clinics have temporarily stopped routine dental care or closed, according to a news release from the Oral Healthcare for All Foundation.

The temporary clinic is in Rock Family Dental’s office on North Shiloh Drive, said Drew Ramey, executive director at Rock Dental Brands.

“The emergency dental hubs exist to relieve strain on our state’s emergency rooms, leaving room for those providers to focus on the influx of covid-19 patients as well as provide patients a safe environment to receive the dental care they need. Procedures done in the urgent dental hubs will be limited to those outlined by the Arkansas Department of Health, which are primarily for getting patients out of severe dental pain or to correct issues causing difficulty eating or breathing for patients,” according to the news release.

The Arkansas Department of Health recommended dental clinics temporarily stop doing routine dental care, such as cleanings, to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Three other temporary offices have opened, one each in Little Rock, Jonesboro and Pine Bluff. Patients may be screened and schedule appointments online at urgent-hub.com or by phone at (501) 302-0774.

“If you have a primary dental provider, contact them first as most dental professionals are still trying to serve their active patient base with urgent and emergency needs. Most insurances, Medicaid dental and other resources will be accepted, but all patients will be treated regardless of their ability to pay,” according to the news release.
