Thoughts after Arkansas 50-43 overtime loss to Texas A&M …

youdaman: This offensive line is a long way away.

JacksonReid: Fighting back to regain the lead twice in the 4th quarter was impressive.Very disappointed for the kids.

Jimbeau77: Yes, heartbreaking for the kids. Hopefully they bounce back. And not just against New Mexico State, but against SEC opponents of which none look so dang impressive other than ‘Bama.

Superhawgfan: Offensive line needs to find a way to keep Austin Allen clean and he will deliver.

MckinneyHog: I sat through all three of these OT losses to the Aggies right on the losing goal line each time. The term “déjà vu” all over again is appropriate.

Keith Guthrie: Guess I am the eternal optimist and even though disappointed I saw a lot of things to like. After the TCU game I was extremely concerned. Now we see TCU was not an average team …

TheHuntinHog: Until we can control defense, we won’t win.

Irunalot: Right on, brother! It was all those chunk plays, not our offense. Not to mention kickoff special team fails.

HAWGZILLA: The previous game against TCU, it was the offense and special teams that lost the game. It’s always something.

On Coach Bret Bielema’s response to Saturday’s loss …

Boarbarian: I can’t help but like the guy. I’m back on the wagon. … I’m thinking six wins would be remarkable; seven wins outstanding after digging such a deep hole.

hogdr: He needs to beat some people he’s not supposed to in order to go bowling and bring back some fan confidence.

Outlook for the remainder of the season:

drhog: Mark it down: NMSU — W; South Carolina — W; Alabama — L; Auburn — L; Ole Miss — W, Coastal Carolina — W, LSU — L; Mississippi State — W; Missouri — W. Sevenand-five regular season with a bowl game to go. …Remember this post at the end of the season when there’s a beautiful rainbow of the UofA campus. We might even go 9-0 the rest of the way.

Jimbeau77: Heck, I’ll roll with you here for 7-5 regular season finish, but that 9-0 the rest of the way is, well, just some good Kool-Aid and possibly some other substances involved.

adgebg: We watched “Greater” again. Tearjerker and powerfully positive all rolled together. Come on team, do it the Burls way. How bad do you want it?

On Arkansas successfully using freshman quarterback Cole Kelley against Texas A&M …

Army Hog: It was about time to change in the red zone, and they did. This is the most improved part of the game.

Hogbacker: Maybe this will encourage them to step out with more boldness with different packages of attack on both sides of the ball.

nlr buzzard: Right now I think he should start — in 2018. Of course, then folks will be mad that Hyatt/Noland/Bohannon/Storey/Player X is not getting any game reps and would be a better option. I also think Kelley added some much needed fun and hope into a tough September for this team.

JPRoland: I think this year will be fun to watch and the Razorbacks will do some good things. I especially like watching the young guys like Cole Kelley. Austin Allen is the veteran and he is who you want in there. But with as many licks as he has been taking I am certainly glad to have both Cole and Ty.

On the performance of graduate transfer running back David Williams …

eaglehog5: David has been one of the early bright spots.

Jhawg: David Williams has been the biggest positive surprise on this team. He is big, fast, shifty and a heckuva back. How did he not play much at South Carolina?

Regarding the sale of the new suites and loge boxes at the expanded Reynolds Razorback Stadium …

Matt Jones: All suites have been sold and less than a (loge) dozen boxes remain.

Texashog77: I’ve been intrigued by the loge boxes since I first read about them.

Swine Fusion: If you really want one, call (Razorback Foundation director) Scott Varady and I bet he will get you fixed up.

Texashog77: I’m not interested right now, I like my current spot. It is a conversation my partner and I have had, but would be a few years down the road. Also, would probably take three years to convince my wife … May run it by her anyway.

Oklahawg: Don’t ask! It is always better to ask for forgiveness that it is to seek permission.

On the late Orville Henry, longtime Arkansas sportswriter and father of

Hawgs Illustrated publisher Clay Henry, being selected to the Southwest Conference Hall of Fame …

LDHog: Congratulations, Clay … Old dudes like me grew up reading Orville’s take on all things Razorback. He was a wonderful writer and always had inside info that explained things very clearly. The apple didn’t fall from the tree.

Hawginator: I second that. Congratulations to the Henry family. What a rich legacy of sports reporting that Orville created and his sons have carried on.

BaumbasticHawg: I didn’t grow up in Arkansas … I missed following O.H. as a kid. I began to follow him once I got connected to the net. I quickly understood why everyone wanted to read his columns. This is a well-deserved honor.

adgebg: I have so many fond memories of setting off in search of the Sunday paper just to read the sports page to see what Orville Henry had to report on what had happened at the Razorback game. That line is not broken.

Score predictions for Saturday’s game against New Mexico State …

Hawginator: This looks like a high-scoring affair to me. Not impressed with their defense or our defense. Therefore, I think both offenses have lots of success. Arkansas 48, New Mexico St. 31.

LDHog: Hogs 54, NMSU 14. JLT73Hogs: Arkansas 42, NMSU 38. JacksonReid: Hogs 34-27. Lilhawg: NMSU makes a game of it. We pull away late 38-24.

Adgebg: 49-21 Hogs.
