DOWN ON HER LUXE
UES socialite faces eviction
Socialite Libbie Mugrabi’s landlord is trying kick her out of her nearly $30,000-amonth luxury Upper East Side condo in a spat over back rent and utilities, court records show.
The owner of The Park Mansion building in the ritzy Yorkville neighborhood alleges in Manhattan Civil Court papers filed last month that Mugrabi has been behind on her $28,800 monthly rent and utilities there and has racked up at least $148,450 in arrears since April.
A source close to Mugrabi said that she wasn’t shirking her responsibilities but that her estranged husband, the billionaire art scion David Mugrabi, stopped paying her bills.
Libbie, 40, and David, 48, are settling their divorce. It was not immediately clear whether David was required to pay the rent on the East 82nd Street apartment.
“The rent has not been paid. No one disputes this,” the source said. “But thanks to Gov. Cuomo, there’s also a government moratorium on evictions that plays into this.”
David filed for divorce from Libbie in 2018. They have two kids together.
The pair’s divorce battle has been heated, with Libbie’s lawyer once yelling in court, “Cuff him and take him down to The Tombs!” — referring to the Manhattan Detention Complex.
The two were fighting over an art collection, a $72 million townhouse and a Hamptons home.
Last month, Libbie told Page Six that she and David had settled their differences and were inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin to “consciously uncouple.”
Libbie has recently been hitting the Hamptons with Brock Pierce, the bitcoin billionaire and former child star of “The Mighty Ducks” who is running for president.
Libbie’s and David’s divorce lawyers did not return requests for comment.
