Girl, 11, beaten by five – as 30 cops do nothing

Some two dozen NYPD cops didn’t lift a finger to stop the broad-daylight beating of an 11year-old girl in Harlem.

The victim was slapped, punched, kicked and even shocked with a stun gun by a group of five other girls on East 125th Street near Madison Avenue shortly after a basketball game at around 7 p.m. on Sunday, sources said.

But during the roughly fourminute melee, cops sat idly in nearby cruisers — not getting out until the girl was bloody and bruised, a Post photographer observed.

At least 20 police cars containing roughly 30 officers were parked on the street nearby — with one a little more than a car’s length away, photos show.

Police sources told The Post that the girl was treated at Mount Sinai Hospital after being cut, bruised and shocked in the stomach with the stun gun.

The girl told cops that she didn’t know her attackers but knew two of their handles on social media, sources said.

An NYPD spokesman claimed the account of the attack witnessed by the Post photographer was “completely inaccurate.”

“The officers were met by a large crowd while attempting to come to this person’s assistance. They were outnumbered. Projectiles were thrown at them. And they were forced to reposition and call every available resource in the area,” said the spokesman, Al Baker.

The department also tweeted out a video it claimed shows people throwing bottles at cops who tried to intervene — but it was unclear when or where the footage was shot, and it does not show the girl being attacked.

The Post photographer said he observed no objects of any kind being tossed at police, adding that he was on the scene after hearing reports of an unruly crowd nearby some 45 minutes prior.

It was unclear if any arrests were made in connection with the fight.

One police source wrote to The Post that it was lawmakers’ fault that cops refused to do their jobs.

“This is what the city council, [Council Speaker] Corry [sic] Johnson, [Mayor] de Blasio wanted: ‘It should be a less hands-on approach,’ ” the source wrote. “They’re getting it now. As long as they’re not supporting the cops these things are going to happen.”

“Unfortunately, this little girl is a casualty of what’s going on here.”

But another source complained that cops should not go rogue.

“Doesn’t matter. You may not want to do anything, but you still have to be there to prevent people from being hurt and [protect] their safety,” the source said.

“That it was a kid, it’s horrible,” the source added. “I blame the [cops] and the way this job has become — starting from the top.”

Top brass have repeatedly denied any a police slowdown.

Arrests have tanked over the past month, with cops making nearly 60 percent fewer collars, NYPD data released on Monday shows.
