Prez slams Bam as ‘incompetent’

- By MARK MOORE

President Trump blasted former President Barack Obama as “grossly incompetent,” a day after Obama criticized the administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Look, he was an incompetent president, that’s all I can say. Grossly incompetent,” Trump told reporters Sunday while arriving at the White House after returning from spending the weekend at Camp David.

A short while later, he followed up on his comments about Obama and Joe Biden, Obama’s vice president during their eight years he was in office.

“The Obama Administration is turning out to be one of the most corrupt and incompetent in U.S. history,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Remember, he and Sleepy Joe are the reasons I am in the White House!!!”

Trump was responding to remarks Obama made in online commencement speeches the day before — but noted that he had not heard the comments.

“More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing,” Obama said while addressing graduates of historically black colleges and universities. “A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”

Earlier Sunday, Peter Navarro, the White House’s top trade adviser, also blasted Obama for faulting the administration’s coronavirus response.

“Well, I’m glad Mr. Obama has a new job as Joe Biden’s press secretary,” he said on ABC News’ “This Week.”

“I note for the record that, in his speech that I read, there was no mention of manufacturing, no mention of China. As far as I’m concerned, his administration was a kumbaya of incompetence, in which we saw millions of manufacturing jobs go off to China,” he added.

Asked about an op-ed Biden wrote in USA Today in January that warned Trump about trusting Chinese President Xi Jinping during the coronavirus pandemic, Navarro replied: “Well, Joe Biden’s got 40 years of sucking up to the Chinese, including the eight years as vice president.”
